Nick's practice focuses on first-party coverage litigation, "bad faith" and extra-contractual insurance litigation, including advice regarding suspicious insurance claims. As part of his practice, Nick counsels clients involved in litigation and investigations relating to suspected insurance fraud, including intentional losses, material misrepresentations, and organized activity such as racketeering and insurance fraud rings. He has worked on insurance claims relating to arson, vehicle and home thefts, staged losses, vehicle accident claims involving PIP and UM/UIM coverage, and suspected medical provider fraud.
Prior to working at Maloney Lauersdorf Reiner, PC, Nick worked in Portland and Seattle with a large insurance defense firm. Nick was also previously an attorney at a small intellectual property firm in Portland. He has been active in the International Association of Special Investigation Units (IASIU) and Puget Sound Special Investigators (PSSI) groups.
